How To Get Slime Out Of Hair
In the past few years, the popularity of making and playing with slime has been a rising trend. With its colorful appearance and texture, it can be a playing toy to children and also be used as a stress reliever for adults. But because it has a sticky consistency, it can sometimes attach itself to surfaces, and you can have a hard time cleaning it. Children usually use this chance of making a mess with the slime. When it sticks to your hair, you cannot recklessly get the slime out, as the process harms your hair. So, here are tips and steps on how to get slime out of hair.
Tips to Get Slime Out of Hair
Use a conditioner
The first thing that may come into our mind on how to get slime out of hair is using shampoo, but applying conditioner first is a more effective way. The first thing you have to do is to find a hair conditioner. Since all of us keep conditioner in their household, the next thing you have to do is prepare hot water and dip the affected area of your hair into the water. Exposing the slime to the hot water makes the slime break down. Next, get plenty of conditioner, put it in your hair, massage your hair, and slide your fingers from the roots to have better results. Then, comb your wet hair until you get rid of all of the slime. Then, rinse using warm water. After this, use a shampoo and apply it to your hair. Lastly, rinse everything with water. If everything goes to plan, just a single wash should take care of your problem, but if there are still traces of slime left, just repeat everything until all slime is gone.
If the first tip didn't work, try using mayonnaise; because of the oily nature of mayonnaise, it can be a great solution on how to get slime out of hair. Like the first one, get a generous amount of mayonnaise, and start applying it to your hair. Then, gently comb your hair with the slime in it, keep on doing this until all the slime is gone. After all the slime, wash your hair using shampoo and conditioner and rinse it off. If you don't have any mayonnaise in your home, an alternative is to use oil-based products like peanut butter and coconut oil.
Another solution would be using oil, specifically plant-based oil like vegetable oil, olive oil, or jojoba oil. The process is basically the same as the second one; just think that this step comes before the conditioning process. What you have to do is apply the oil product to the hair attached by the slime and comb your hair using a fine-toothed comb until all the slime is gone. After you have done all this, wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner and rinse.
Use diluted vinegar
Using diluted vinegar is also a great way on how to get slime out of hair. Try to get as much slime as you can in your hair first. If they won't come out, just leave this step and proceed to the next one. The next thing you have to do is to wear goggles or any protection for your eyes from the vinegar because it might sting if you accidentally put some vinegar in your eyes. Then, mix in a solution of 2/3 vinegar and 1/3 warm water and use this to get the slime out of your hair, if the slime is near the ends of your hair just dip your hair on the mixture until all the slime is gone. If not, pour the solution to the area with the slime. Massage your hair using your fingers until the slime is gone. If there are still traces of slime, keep on pouring the solution while massaging it. And just like the previous steps, when the slime on your hair is gone, wash it using conditioner and shampoo and rinse everything off. If you have experienced a lingering smell of the vinegar in your hair, just wash your hair again thoroughly until the smell is gone.
As parents, it is always good to let your children have fun and explore things on their own. It is a stage in their lives where they need to develop their ability to do things by themselves and discover how the world works. And sometimes, they can never avoid accidents on the process, but if we are equipped with the knowledge on how to handle these types of things just like knowing how to get slime out of hair the worry we have will eventually disappear. We can have a fun time with our little ones without worrying about what could go wrong.
